Phoenix Park CMP
Planning, Landscape, Environment, Biodiversity
The Phoenix Park Conservation Management Plan provides the background to the natural, built and cultural heritage of the park, and sets out the maintenance, management, conservation principles and objectives that will ensure the long-term integrity of the park. It is informed by the history of the park, its evolution and its present day status together with an understanding of the diverse uses of the park from passive recreation through to large scale events.
The CMP has at its core a vision to protect and conserve the historic park while at the same time balancing the need for access and accessibility, enhancing the appeal of the park as a destination and managing expectations of private vehicular access especially through traffic. It also focuses on protecting the flora and fauna of the park from wild meadows to wildlife and including mature woodlands and specimen trees.
