An Portach Ciúin

Landscape

An Portach Ciúin, meaning The Quiet Bog, is set within the larger Lough Boora Parklands and provides 'spaces' in the landscape for people with particular needs for time or refelction.

A modest enclosed picnic area close to the entrance caters of childrens with special needs and picnic spaces for families. A series of paths made from re-purposed bog railway tracks leads through the woodland to two separate semi-enclosed podiums on the edge of the wetlands and overlooking the broader landscape providing spaces for relaxation or contemplation and time out from the pressures of life.
